More Than Two Decades of Building Fences—and Building Them Better
Established in 2005, Hooks Fence Company is a North Alabama fencing company built around a simple goal: learn the trade, keep improving, and give customers strong, properly installed fencing at a fair value.

How It Started
From a Hobby to Hooks Fence Company
Owner Kevin Hooks began installing fences in 2001 while working for another company. Hooks Fence Company was established in 2005 in Boaz, Alabama.
As the business grew, so did Kevin's desire to learn the proper techniques for installing fences correctly and building them to last.
Kevin has always been competitive—not simply about winning jobs, but about the quality of the finished product. From the beginning, his goal was to build some of the strongest, best-quality fences possible while still providing customers with excellent value. Just as important was building a reputation that customers, friends and neighbors could trust.
Our approach: Build it strong. Build it correctly. Use quality materials. Charge a fair price. And never stop looking for ways to do the job better.
Continuing Education

Fence installation is a skilled trade, and we believe there is always something more to learn.
Over the years, Kevin has purchased and studied fencing books, studied countless hours of fencing demonstrations, installation techniques and industry training material, worked as a subcontractor for other companies, and studied different installation processes firsthand.
Those experiences provided opportunities to see how other professionals approached fence construction, adopt methods that worked well, and refine those techniques when there was an opportunity to make an installation stronger, faster or better.
Kevin has also attended professional fencing seminars and training programs over the years. In many industries this would simply be called continuing education, and we believe it is just as important in the fencing trade.
Learning From Other Fence Professionals
One particularly important influence has been Mr. Fence in Evansville, Indiana. Kevin has attended Mr. Fence training programs several times and has implemented many of the techniques learned there into Hooks Fence Company's installation practices.
That professional relationship has continued beyond the classroom. When Kevin encounters an unusual fencing problem or has a technical question, experienced people in the fencing industry are only a phone call or text away.
Materials change. Tools improve. Installation methods evolve. That's why Hooks Fence Company continues investing in modern fencing tools, equipment, training and techniques. Experience matters—but experience combined with a willingness to keep learning is even better.

Commercial Experience
We have completed projects for large and small companies, including work as far south as Mobile, Alabama for Spectrum. Being trusted with commercial and industrial projects is a responsibility we take seriously.

Our true passion remains building fences for homeowners, families, friends and communities. A small backyard fence deserves the same attention to quality as a large commercial project.
Our Local Community
Giving Back Through Our Craft
The communities of North Alabama have supported Hooks Fence Company for more than two decades, and we believe in giving something back when we have the opportunity.
Hooks Fence Company constructed a dog play yard for the Marshall County Animal Shelter with no charge for labor. We also constructed an enclosure around the veterans monuments at the Albertville courthouse, again donating the labor for the project.
Over the years, Hooks Fence Company has also donated work and materials to Second Chance Animal Shelter in DeKalb County.
These projects give us an opportunity to use the trade we've spent decades learning to support the communities that have supported us.

Difficult Terrain
Slopes, changes in grade and uneven ground often require more than a standard installation. We’ve learned how to adapt the fence to the property while maintaining appearance, strength and function.
Stronger Gates & Posts
Gates place different stresses on a fence than ordinary fence sections. We pay particular attention to gate frames, hinge posts, latches and support so the entrance is built for repeated use.
Pet Containment
When a fence is being built for dogs or other animals, we consider spacing, ground clearance, gates and possible escape points—not simply the fence line.
Choosing the Right Materials
The most expensive option isn’t automatically the best option. We help customers consider appearance, maintenance, strength, intended use and budget when choosing fencing materials.

Experience on larger commercial projects has taught us techniques and standards that can also benefit the smaller residential fences we build every week.
